Breath And Meditation
Breath is life. Life starts with breathing, and as long as we breathe, we are alive. Not only that, our way of breathing reflects our way of living. Whether we live in tension or in relaxation, in emotional turmoil or in silence – it shows in how we breathe.
And as breath and our body-mind are so connected – we can use breath to make changes in our unhealthy and unconscious patterns of mind. Breath can be used as a methodology to release all our repressed emotions and inhibitions, and by regaining our natural breathing we can get in touch with and live our aliveness again like we did as children.
In this course many breath techniques are used to connect with the body. By opening of the breathing areas, and through intensive breathing releasing the tensions and unexpressed emotional turmoil which we carry inside. This leads us into silence, relaxation, and joy.
Simply by becoming aware of our breath a healthy and centered life happens naturally. We become more capable of living through intense situations in a relaxed way.
By being fully alive and conscious we can live our potential.
It is a journey of connecting with life, of being conscious.
“Breath is your life, and breath is also the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious, between your body and your soul. This bridge has to be used. If you can use this bridge rightly, you can go to the other shore.
I wonder whether you have observed or not that your breath changes with your emotions. When you are angry, you breathe in a different way. Try to observe how you breathe when you are angry and then try to breathe differently while you are angry. You will not be able to be angry.
You can be angry only in a certain way, with a certain rhythm of breathing.
When you are in love, observe your breath: the rhythm, the music, the harmony. Disturb that harmony and love will disappear. Or, create that harmony and the love will appear.
If you can become the master of your breathing — and it is a deep science — you become master of your emotions. When you are in the sex act, observe how you breathe. That breathing is basically related to the sex act. You cannot do anything in which your breath is not deeply related.
You cannot move into meditation unless you try to understand, and use, your breathing system.
Your breath is the bridge between your conscious and the unconscious”
